In accordance with Georgia Joshua’s Law, all teens must complete an approved driver's education course before applying for a driver's license. Southeastern Technical College offers a comprehensive 30- & 6-hour Driver Education Course designed to meet these requirements.

Course Includes:

  • 30 Hours of Classroom Instruction
  • 6 Hours of Behind-the-Wheel Training with a certified instructor

Meets all Joshua's Law licensing requirements

Qualifies students for insurance premium discounts 

Class will be held at the Economic Development Center at 100-A Brinson Rd, Vidalia, GA 30474.

Enrollment Requirements:

  • Must be 15-17 years old
  • Must have a valid Georgia Learner's permit on or before the first day of class
  • Prior driving experience is highly recommended for behind-the-wheel success

 

 READ ALL INFORMATION shown below carefully.

  • In-Class training will meet from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. with breaks and a one-hour lunch.
    • Student MUST attend FOUR (4) scheduled In-Class training sessions to total 30 hours.
    • No absences allowed for any reason. 
  • In-car training will be scheduled upon completion of in-class training based on instructor and student availability.
    • Student MUST complete SIX (6) hours of in-car training.
    • Prior driving experience is required to help the student receive the maximum benefit from these sessions.
  • Space is limited. Classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Learner’s permit is REQUIRED to participate. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Students registering with a grant scholarship redemption code must present the code with a completed packet to confirm registration. The fee for students who do not qualify for the grant scholarship will be $400. Full payment and a completed packet must be received no later than one week in advance of class start date to hold registration.

 

*Students are required to complete the Georgia Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program (ADAP) course to obtain a Class D Provisional License. While most students will receive this training in a public high school, students who are not able to complete this training at school will need to complete the eADAP course available online. eADAP Student Registration
